Plaster Technician Oxford Hospital | Other Clinical | Bank | Ad Hoc Up to £30.00 per hour, dependent on experience Working on the bank means you are not contracted to a set number of hours per week but instead work on an ad-hoc basis to suit the needs of the business and your availability. As a Plaster Technician, you will: Provide an expert casting and splinting service Maintain a high standard of patient care and be able to recognise potential complications and health care issues and report to the relevant person Recognise legal implications of documentation and complete, accurate legible records Provide wound care appropriate to the patients’ needs and record this in line with department documentation standards Plan and organise straightforward activities, plans and prioritises own workload Adhere to Health & Safety regulations, use appropriate personal protective equipment and advice others as appropriate. Take action to assess the management of risk and reduce where possible. Report using Trust incident reporting procedures Be flexible within the department and have knowledge of the different clinic sessions To apply for this role you MUST possess the below; British Casting Certificate (BCC): The primary qualification, usually requiring at least one year of casting experience to enroll. Education: A minimum of NVQ/Diploma Level 3 in Health and Social Care Patient Care Provide an expert technical service Educate patients and significant others on problems associated with living with a cast/splint Provide patients and carers with advice relating to orthopaedic conditions and associated health care issues Whilst this role is a bank role which means that you are not contracted to a set number of hours per week but instead work on an ad-hoc basis to suit the needs of the business and your availability. Ideally we would like you to be available to work on Tuesday afternoon & Tuesday evening which is inline with when our main Orthopaedic clinic is run Helping you feel good. We cater for inpatient and day care, providing a broad range of surgical specialties and clinics including Paediatrics, Oncology, Interventional Cardiology & Radiology, Orthopaedics, Endoscopy, Gynaecology, Urology, Ophthalmology as well as women’s and men’s health clinics.
