Plater – Full-Time, On-Site Role at CB Construction (Cleveland) Limited

The Plater role at CB Construction (Cleveland) Limited is a full-time, on-site position based in Middlesbrough.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret technical drawings, marking out, cutting, shaping, and assembling steel components for structural and architectural fabrications
  • Work closely with welders and fabricators to ensure accurate fit-up, alignment, and quality of finished assemblies
  • Follow safety procedures and company standards at all times
  • Use hand tools and machinery, checking dimensions and tolerances
  • Collaborate with the onsite team to meet project deadlines

Requirements & Qualifications

Essential

  • Recognised qualification as a time-served Plater
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication details, and technical specifications
  • Practical experience in:
    • Plating
    • Steel fabrication
    • Assembly of structural steel components
  • Competence in:
    • Using hand tools
    • Measuring equipment
    • Workshop machinery (e.g., cutting, bending, rolling tools)
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality control, and adherence to company and site procedures
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a busy fabrication environment

  • Relevant vocational qualification or apprenticeship in:
    • Fabrication
    • Welding
    • A related discipline
  • Previous experience in:
