Plater – Full-Time, On-Site Role at CB Construction (Cleveland) Limited
The Plater role at CB Construction (Cleveland) Limited is a full-time, on-site position based in Middlesbrough.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret technical drawings, marking out, cutting, shaping, and assembling steel components for structural and architectural fabrications
- Work closely with welders and fabricators to ensure accurate fit-up, alignment, and quality of finished assemblies
- Follow safety procedures and company standards at all times
- Use hand tools and machinery, checking dimensions and tolerances
- Collaborate with the onsite team to meet project deadlines

Requirements & Qualifications
Essential
- Recognised qualification as a time-served Plater
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication details, and technical specifications
- Practical experience in:
- Plating
- Steel fabrication
- Assembly of structural steel components
- Competence in:
- Using hand tools
- Measuring equipment
- Workshop machinery (e.g., cutting, bending, rolling tools)
- Strong commitment to safety, quality control, and adherence to company and site procedures
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work effectively in a busy fabrication environment

Preferred
- Relevant vocational qualification or apprenticeship in:
- Fabrication
- Welding
- A related discipline
- Previous experience in:
- Construction
- Heavy engineering environments
- Willingness to undertake further training and certifications as required by project and site needs
