About the Role As a Platform Engineer, you will join a high-performance trading firm specialising in high-frequency trading (HFT) and market making within the crypto space. This role sits at the heart of the trading environment, acting as an infrastructure Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a globally distributed, high-frequency data platform.
You will take ownership of performance, reliability, and scalability across the full infrastructure and data pipeline, collaborating with engineering and trading technology teams on architecture, prioritisation, and continuous improvement. Close collaboration with central infrastructure functions will uplift standards across the entire estate.
Operating in a multi-cloud environment, you will:
- Evaluate and onboard new cloud providers
- Drive best-in-class infrastructure practices
- Optimise low-latency performance through deep expertise in Linux and network stacks critical for trading environments
- Reduce manual intervention via automation to ensure a highly resilient, scalable platform
This role suits a Platform Engineer seeking fast-paced trading exposure with direct involvement in front-office systems, combining infrastructure ownership with a strong engineering mindset and hands-on coding skills in languages like Python, C#, Java, or Rust.

You will partner closely with development and trading technology teams to solve complex infrastructure and deployment challenges, influencing original equipment standards and shaping platforms that enhance delivery speed and reliability for traders.
Key Responsibilities

- Take full ownership of platform performance, reliability, and scalability across global infrastructure and data pipelines
- Work closely with the engineering and trading technology teams to prioritise improvements and ensure continuous high availability
- Drive automation and infrastructure optimisation to reduce manual intervention
- Lead Tool in platforms by enabling best-suitable infrastructure practices through deep cloud domain knowledge
- Multi-cloud environment expertise: AWS, GCP, and Azure
- Evaluate and implement new onboarding cloud solutions, delivering a resilient, scalable platform tailored for high-frequency trading
- Develop familiarity with Python, Java or Rust for automation tasks to improve workplace efficiencies
- Collaborate with the organisation for consistent infrastructure standards by addressing all gaps and inconsistencies
Requirements
Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, including:
- Jenkins
- GitLab CI (preference)
- Azure DevOps
- Solid understanding of:
- AWS core services
- Multi-cloud environments (Azure, GCP)
- Docker and Kubernetes
- Infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation)
- Academy resonance experience with:
- Scripting languages (Python, Java, C#)
- Operational tooling in production environments
- Advanced knowledge of infrastructure automation, specifically:
- Cloud platform deployment alongside Terraform and Azure
- Understanding of low-latency technologies related to trading environments
- Hands-on experience with Linux-based systems for enterprise and specialised use-cases
- Proficiency with network stacks, security, and cloud best practices
