Help Build the Technology Platform Behind Data-Driven Insurance Innovation
The Ardonagh Analytics Lab is a pioneering analytics and data operation established by The Ardonagh Group in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath. The Lab delivers data-driven insights to clients across the globe and supports more than 12,000 colleagues in providing tailored solutions across a diverse range of insurance products and related services.
Our mission is to unlock the full value of data—helping clients better understand risk, anticipate future outcomes and make more informed decisions. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a talented Platform Engineer to play a key role in building and maintaining the infrastructure, development environments and deployment capabilities that underpin our analytics solutions.
The Opportunity
As a Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring our infrastructure and products are deployed securely, reliably and at scale. You'll work closely with technical and business teams, bridging the gap between strategic objectives and technical execution while enabling best-in-class DevOps and platform engineering practices.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with modern cloud technologies, Azure, Microsoft Fabric and enterprise data platforms while helping shape the future of data and analytics within a global organisation.
What You'll Be Doing
- Collaborate with technical and business teams to align platform and infrastructure development with the Analytics Lab's strategic goals.
- Act as a key link between development teams and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and effective delivery.
- Facilitate collaboration across teams to drive a cohesive and efficient development approach.
- Support the implementation, management and optimisation of development tools and environments.
- Build, support and maintain Continuous Integration and Release Management processes across Microsoft Azure and Fabric environments.
- Participate in the design, development and delivery of enterprise-scale DevOps solutions and best practices.
- Continuously improve software development infrastructure, deployment processes and monitoring capabilities.
- Manage and maintain Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments, including software updates, testing and optimisation.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, ensuring seamless integration between systems and platforms.
- Provide governance, control and support for development and testing environments.
- Work collaboratively within Agile teams to support the development and maintenance of data pipelines and analytics solutions.

What We're Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline.
- Strong experience working with Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with data warehousing and modern data platforms.
- Knowledge of data management frameworks including:
- Data Quality Profiling
- Metadata Management
- Master Data Management
- Data Cleansing and Standardisation
- Strong programming and scripting skills, including experience with:
- Python
- Java
- Scala
- R
- Experience with:
- C# (debugging and compiling)
- PowerShell
- Terraform
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), including ARM templates.
- Understanding of DevOps methodologies and toolsets, including CI/CD, automated testing and deployment practices.
- Experience implementing and managing Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
- Ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
Desirable
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric.
- Knowledge of Power Apps.
- Experience working within analytics, data or cloud-first environments.
- Exposure to Financial Services or Insurance sectors.
