Job Title
AgileSource are currently looking for Platform Engineers on either a FTC or Full Time basis will be Designing, building, and operate scalable, reliable platform infrastructure across cloud-native environments.
Salary
£40,000 - £75,000 + Benefits + Bonus Scheme
Location
Hybrid Working - London or Manchester
Security Clearance
SC Cleared or Eligible (UK Resident for 5 + Years)
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, implement and support resilient cloud-based platforms and shared infrastructure services.
- Develop and enhance automated software delivery processes, including build, test and deployment pipelines.
- Create and maintain reusable CI/CD assets and templates that can be adopted across multiple product and engineering teams.
- Administer container platforms, ensuring the availability, scalability and performance of Kubernetes-based environments.
- Deliver infrastructure automation through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management tooling.
- Enable engineering teams through platform improvements, self-service capabilities and workflow automation.
- Support the development and evolution of Internal Developer Platforms and developer productivity tooling.
- Produce high-quality automation scripts and tooling, promoting maintainability, reuse and operational efficiency.
- Implement automated testing strategies to validate platform services, pipelines and supporting tooling.
- Work closely with technical teams to drive reliability, security, performance and operational best practice.

Skills & Experience
Successful candidates should demonstrate experience across a broad range of the following areas:
- Building, maintaining and supporting modern cloud infrastructure and platform solutions.
- Designing and managing CI/CD pipelines within GitLab environments.
- Developing reusable pipeline frameworks, shared templates or automated deployment solutions for multiple teams.
- Practical experience managing Kubernetes environments, including cluster administration, deployments and fault resolution.
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure automation, Infrastructure as Code methodologies and modern engineering practices.
- Experience delivering platform enhancements that improve developer productivity and team effectiveness.
- Familiarity with developer platforms, service catalogues or self-service engineering portals.
- Ability to create and maintain automated testing solutions, including unit, integration and validation testing.
- Proficiency in Scripting and automation, particularly using Bash and modular Scripting approaches.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and analytical problem-solving capabilities.

Desirable Experience
- Experience working within one or more major cloud providers, including AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
- Exposure to large-scale engineering environments supporting multiple delivery teams.
- Understanding of monitoring, logging, observability and reliability engineering principles.
- Previous experience operating within regulated, compliance-driven or security-sensitive environments.
- Familiarity with platform engineering concepts and developer experience initiatives.
- Experience supporting container-based application delivery and cloud-native operating models.
Security Clearance
Due to the nature of the work, applicants must hold active SC (Security Check) clearance or be eligible and willing to obtain SC clearance as part of the onboarding process.
