Platform Engineer I – Entain

About the Role
As a Platform Engineer I, you will be responsible for helping implement the design, automation, deployment, and maintenance of scalable, secure, and efficient infrastructure systems that support our products and services. You’ll ensure the platform is robust, reliable, and ready to meet demand.
Reporting to your Tech Lead, you’ll be part of the Platform Engineering Team, which builds and maintains the core infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and an Internal Developer Platform (IDP) to enable self-service capabilities for development teams. You’ll work closely with development and operations teams to enable rapid delivery of high-quality software while ensuring system stability, scalability, and security.
In the AI-driven world, you’ll design agentic AI workflows to accelerate colleagues across product and technology.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge DevOps practices, container orchestration, cloud-native solutions, and developer experience (DX) optimization in a high-impact role. You’ll be empowered to make strategic decisions on tools, processes, and architecture, including shaping our IDP to empower engineers and accelerate delivery.
Responsibilities
- Support implementation and evolve an Internal Developer Platform (IDP) that provides self-service capabilities for:
- Provisioning environments
- Deploying services
- Managing infrastructure
- Work with shell scripting (Bash/PowerShell), Python/Java, and Ansible
- Help implement agentic AI workflows
- Manage Kubernetes clusters and deploy containerized applications at scale
- Build and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, building, and deployment
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using:
- Prometheus
- Grafana
- ELK Stack/Datadog
- Ensure infrastructure security best practices and maintain clear documentation
- Collaborate with developers to:
- Improve onboarding
- Enhance service templates
- Streamline workflows within the IDP
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience in a DevOps, Platform Engineering, or similar role
- Proven experience in designing or contributing to an Internal Developer Platform or developer productivity tools
- Strong skills in:
- Shell scripting (Bash/PowerShell)
- Programming (Python or Java)
- Hands-on experience with:
- Ansible
- Kubernetes
- GitLab CI/CD
- Proficiency with Git version control and branching strategies
- Strong AI skills
- Knowledge of:
- Monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana)
- Logging solutions (ELK/Datadogg)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS or GCP)
- Strong understanding of:
- Infrastructure security best practices
- Application security
