Senior Platform Engineer – Agentic AI
About the Role
The Senior Platform Engineer is responsible for building and operating an internal Agentic AI Platform. This involves:
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure-as-code (IaC).
- Developing workflow automation capabilities.
- Ensuring operational health, security, and scalability of the platform.
Key Responsibilities
Build
- Implement new platform capabilities from architectural designs, translating security, governance, and infrastructure requirements into production-grade IaC.
- Design and build the platform’s security and secrets management layer, ensuring least-privilege credentials and governed PKI hierarchy for all workloads.
- Implement and enforce security policies across the cluster, including:
- Admission control checks.
- Workload configuration standards.
- Network traffic controls.
- Resource constraints.
- Build and establish platform observability, including:
- Log aggregation.
- Metrics collection.
- Distributed tracing.
- Alerting across all components.
- Design and implement a GitOps delivery automation system:
- Version-controlled, auditable pipelines.
- Drift reconciliation.
- Rollback capabilities.

Operate
- Own day-to-day operational health:
- Monitor for issues.
- Respond to incidents.
- Conduct root-cause analysis.
- Implement permanent remediation.
- Maintain data services for platform stability:
- Database (Kubernetes) clusters.
- Job queues.
- Object storage backup schedules.
- Failover testing.
- Capacity management.
- Manage operational tasks responsibly:
- Secrets rotation.
- Certificate lifecycle management.
- Policy drift detection.
- Identity configuration.
- Participate in high-stakes operations, such as:
- Secrets infrastructure initialisation.
- Disciplined, documented execution of rotation events.
Experience Requirements
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the following areas:
- Kubernetes (production cluster operation):
- RKE2, EKS, or GKE deployment/experience.
- Helm for chart management.
- RBAC design and multi-namespace workload management.

Secrets Management at Scale:
- Production deployment of a HashiCorp Vault solution (alternatives also considered).
- Experience with PKI, dynamic credentials, and secrets injection in workloads.

Policy-as-Code:
- Proven track record in:
- Admission control policy authoring/enforcement (OPA/Rego, Kyverno).
- Fulfilling compliance requirements in production K8s environments.
- Proven track record in:

GitOps at Production Scale:
- Hands-on experience with Fleet, ArgoCD, Flux, or equivalent.
- Declarative drift reconciliation, rollback strategies, multi-environment deployments.

API Gateway Engineering:
- Production-grade deployment/operation of Kong, Envoy, or alternatives.
- Experience with rate limiting, plugin/policy authoring, and route management.

Linux Platform Engineering:
- Familiarity with:
- Networking (Linux) fundamentals.
- TLS and PKI operations.
- CSI storage operations.
- Container runtime optimisation.
- Familiarity with:
