Platform Engineer (SC)
Platform Engineer (SC Clearance) - Contract - Hybrid working (Hampshire) - £competitive
Synergize Consulting are hiring for a Platform Engineer to work at a leading consultancy client of ours on a contract basis.
The successful candidate will play a key role in integrating critical designs and solutions, and will support the business in enabling development teams to deliver software efficiently and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to support rapid and reliable software delivery.
- Build and manage cloud-native infrastructure on AWS using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
- Deploy, manage, and optimise Kubernetes environments for containerised applications.
- Embed security throughout the software development life cycle, championing DevSecOps best practices.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve platform reliability, performance, and scalability.
- Collaborate closely with development, security, and operations teams to streamline engineering processes.
- Drive automation across infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment workflows.
- Contribute to platform architecture and continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Strong commercial experience as a DevOps Engineer or Platform Engineer.
- Proven expertise in CI/CD pipeline design and implementation.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
- Strong Kubernetes administration and orchestration experience.
- Experience implementing DevSecOps principles and security automation.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience with container technologies such as Docker.
- Strong Scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python, or PowerShell).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Due to the nature of the client, it would be an advantage for candidates to hold, or be eligible and willing to undergo, a certain level of security clearance (SC).
