We make health happen
At Bupa, technology underpins everything we do. You’ll join a growing digital and data community working across innovative platforms that support colleagues, clinicians, patients, and our insurance customers. As part of our enterprise data platform team, you’ll help build and operate the cloud infrastructure that powers analytics, reporting, and data science across Bupa.
This role is ideal for an engineer with hands-on Azure and/or Snowflake experience who is ready to deepen their cloud engineering skills, contribute to automation and platform operations, and work in a highly regulated, mission-driven environment.
Please note: This is a platform engineering role rather than a traditional data engineering position. We welcome applicants from data engineering backgrounds with strong platform/IaC skills.
How you’ll help us make health happen:
- Support the design, build, and maintenance of core Azure and Snowflake data platform components.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, enabling repeatable and automated deployments.
- Build and run CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions.
- Contribute to platform monitoring, including logging, metrics, and alerting through observability tooling.
- Troubleshoot platform issues and escalate where appropriate.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and data teams to provision secure and performant environments.
- Contribute to documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying enhancements to automation, performance, and reliability.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
