Platform Lead – Hosting at easyJet

We are easyJet – a FTSE-250 listed, multi-billion-pound low-cost airline that empowers tens of millions of customers annually. Whether you’ve travelled with us or experienced our iconic Orange brand, we’re Europe’s favourite low-cost airline. With 1,207+ routes, connections across 38 countries, and 18,000+ colleagues, our mission is clear: make low-cost travel easy.

Our vision relies on four Promise Behaviours: Safe, Bold, Welcoming, and Challenging. These shape our corporate culture and guide every role—from engineering to leadership.

The Team: ITSO (IT Services and Airline Operations)

The ITSO organisation ensures the scalable, efficient, and reliable IT infrastructure essential for easyJet’s future growth. Within ITSO sits I&O Platforms, the backbone of our technology operation, powering:

  • Transparent visibility into technology service health
  • Secure and efficient hosting of critical business data
  • Foundation for 99.999% availability underpinning Europe’s best airline network

Achieving this requires collaboration, clarity, and MEASURABLE outcomes—not just uptime, but usage rates, adoption, and developer satisfaction.

About the Role: Platform Lead – Hosting

You don’t treat infrastructure as a project, but as a product—and here, every engineer makes design decisions every day. Your focus: a self-service, multi-cloud environment that scales with easyJet’s ambitions into Europe’s favourite best-value airline.

Key Responsibilities

As Platform Lead – Hosting, your priorities will include:

  • Owning the internal developer platform as a product
    • Define a clear vision and prioritised roadmap with cross-functional engagement (SRE, security, engineering).
    • Eliminate friction—adoption should be driven by great experience, not top-down mandates.
  • Multi-Cloud Landscape Strategy
    • Lead part of easyJet’s Landing Zone strategy across AWS, Azure, GCP, including:
      • Account/management hierarchy
      • Network patterns
      • Identity management
      • Policy-as-code implementation
      • Security baselines and compliance controls
    • Build golden paths—the secure, compliant route should always be the easiest route.
  • Measurement & Therapist Role
    • Drive adoption through iteration, developer-friendly practices, and *TD.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Talent & Leadership

    • Own relationships with engineering, security, and architectural stakeholders
    • Lead a cross-functional team with deep cross-domain expertise
  • Leadership Communication

    • Present clear risks, opportunities, and value to senior leaders—translating technical trade-offs into business decisions
  • Strategic Hands-On Tradeoffs

    • Your decisions must earn trust from engineers (demonstrate hands-on expertise) and resonance at senior levels (the ability to articulate clear tradeoffs).

Role Eligibility

Who Thrives Here

We’re looking for someone who: ✔ Has led a product-focused platform/SRE/internal developer platform, with verified results (e.g., usage rates, developer satisfaction scores above the global mean, cost savings). ✔ Applies a product mindset—your success is measured through real-world behavior change (e.g., uptake of policies, features, etc. not just functional docs). ✔ Stand out in cloud platforms—familiar with:

  • Landing Zone models
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tooling
  • Open policy frameworks (Policy-as-Code,SPF, gatekeeper, etc.)
  • Balance technical acumen with stakeholder management—ball in play at both engineerFactory level led-to director level. ✔ Practice discovery as “discovery”—not just gathering requirements, but putting the right problem first while balancing tradeoffs. ✔ Agile philosophy beyond the buzzword—you adapt course—but you know when ‘shippable’ is a process and, more important, when it gotta ship! ✔ Works at the intersection of teams—engineering decisions require strong technical ownership all the way up to strategic (business) alignment.
