Platform Security Engineer (AWS) - CAF Framework | Contract | Immediate Start

Contract: 6 Months (£450 Outside IR35)
Location: Hybrid (UK)
Start: Immediate

We're supporting a well-established UK technology business as they strengthen their cloud security posture and deliver against the Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF).

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Platform Security Engineer or Cloud Security Engineer with deep AWS expertise and hands-on experience delivering security improvements aligned to CAF Level 4 (or equivalent government/regulated security frameworks).

You'll work closely with platform, infrastructure and security teams to assess existing environments, implement security controls, produce compliance evidence, and help drive the organisation through a critical security programme.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead the implementation of security controls across a large AWS environment
  • Drive delivery against the CAF 4 security framework
  • Improve cloud security posture across identity, networking, logging and resilience
  • Produce technical documentation and compliance evidence for senior stakeholders
  • Review and strengthen supplier and cloud security governance
  • Implement security best practices across IAM, MFA, networking and encryption
  • Enhance logging, monitoring, alerting and threat detection capabilities
  • Improve backup, recovery and incident response processes
  • Work alongside platform engineering teams to embed security into cloud infrastructure
  • Provide regular progress updates to senior stakeholders throughout the engagement

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
