HP Security Lab Hardware and Firmware Research Engineer Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity to join the HP Security Lab for an experienced hardware and firmware research engineer, who will focus on researching and designing security architecture for future endpoint devices to be more secure and manageable in tomorrow’s threat landscape. The role will be part of our world-class Platform Security Research team to help push the boundaries of hardware-firmware co-design for security and next-generation platform roots of trust.
On a daily basis, you will be working closely with systems security research engineers, developing and prototyping new technologies and architectures, and engaging with technologists in business units across HP to identify opportunities and help plan innovation roadmaps for the future.
Job Responsibilities
- Analyse technology trends, threat trends, and end-user needs to help drive HP’s security research and security products roadmaps
- Developing new hardware and firmware security architectures
- Building prototypes to de-risk and show feasibility of ideas
- Documenting architecture and technical designs
- Validating use cases with end-users and business partners
- Working in a fast-paced environment that iterates and evolves rapidly
Job Requirements
- Experience with hardware and firmware technologies (x86, ARM, UEFI, PCIe, DMA, etc.)
- Knowledge of computer architecture
- An ability to analyse and model threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigations
- Ability to survey and articulate technology and threat trends
- Strong engineering skills
- Knowledge or interest in endpoint security
- An ability to convey technical knowledge to both technical experts and non-technical teams alike
