Kubernetes Platform Tech Lead with GoLang Experience
📍 Location: Sheffield, Leeds, or Birmingham, UK
🏢 Work Model: Hybrid

We are looking for an experienced Kubernetes Platform Tech Lead with strong GoLang expertise to join a high-performing engineering team responsible for building and managing a highly resilient, scalable, and developer-friendly Kubernetes platform on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
This is an excellent opportunity for a technical leader who enjoys solving complex platform engineering challenges, mentoring engineers, influencing technical decisions, and driving cloud-native innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build, manage, and enhance a scalable and highly available GKE Kubernetes Platform enabling application teams to deploy efficiently and securely.
- Provide technical leadership through architecture discussions, code reviews, pull request reviews, and engineering best practices.
- Design and implement platform solutions using Infrastructure as Code and automation technologies.
- Manage and operate multiple Kubernetes clusters from a centrally governed platform.
- Ensure compliance with security, operational risk, monitoring, logging, availability, and resiliency standards.
- Build and support Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD), and Continuous Testing pipelines.
- Collaborate with application teams, DevOps teams, and cross-functional IT teams to resolve technical challenges and improve platform capabilities.
- Support platform observability, troubleshooting, and incident management activities.
- Participate in an on-call rotation providing 24x7 operational support coverage.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives including multi-cloud platform capabilities and future platform enhancements.

Mandatory Skills:
- Strong technical expertise in GoLang
- Deep understanding of the Kubernetes ecosystem
- Experience with Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Strong experience with Kubernetes architecture, administration, and platform engineering
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools
