Platform Specialist – Retail & Analytics Data Hub (RADH) at Legal & General
About Legal & General
Legal & General (L&G) is a leading UK financial services group and major global investor, dedicated to safeguarding financial futures since 1836. We strive to build a better society by improving customers’ lives, creating value for shareholders, and offering retirement and protection solutions worldwide.
Our Retail business supports customers throughout their financial journey—helping them save, plan, and enjoy retirement. We serve ~12.8 million policyholders and workplace members, leveraging technology to create personalised, data-driven solutions.
The Opportunity
We’re building a modern, enterprise-scale data platform to help our Retail business make smarter, data-driven decisions daily. Our Data Operations team powers this by designing, running, and improving the Retail & Analytics Data Hub (RADH), a strategic data platform at the heart of analytics and reporting.
We’re seeking a Platform Specialist to take technical ownership of RADH and shape its future. Ideal for someone who loves working at the intersection of platform engineering, data architecture, and Snowflake innovation—while influencing how data platforms evolve at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the ongoing development of the Retail & Analytics Data Hub as a strategic enterprise data platform.
- Introduce and optimise Snowflake capabilities to improve performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Act as the Snowflake subject matter expert, shaping best practices across the organisation.
- Improve automation through CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and orchestration frameworks.
- Embed observability across the platform, including monitoring, alerting, data lineage, and quality.
- Enhance governance, security, and access controls in partnership with Information Security.
- Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and product teams to drive platform adoption and delivery.
- Optimise platform costs while maintaining agreed service levels for availability, performance, and data quality.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
