Platform Specialist – Retail & Analytics Data Hub (RADH)
Legal & General (L&G) is a leading UK financial services group and major global investor, safeguarding people’s financial futures since 1836. Our Retail business supports millions with lifelong financial solutions, rooted in data-driven innovation and personalised customer engagement.
We’re shaping the future of our Retail & Analytics Data Hub (RADH), a strategic enterprise-scale data platform, and we’re seeking a visionary Platform Specialist to own its technical direction. This role is ideal for someone passionate about modern platform engineering, Snowflake solutions, and data architecture at scale.
About the Role

Key facets of the role:
- Strategic data leadership: Architect and refine RADH as our go-to enterprise data platform.
- Snowflake specialisation: Champion performant, cost-efficient Snowflake constructs (query hones, micro-partitions, clustering, etc.).
- Best-practice drive: Steward Snowflake design patters, governance, and security standards across the organisation.
- Automation optimisation: Enhance CI/CD workflows, IaC (e.g. Terraform), and orchestration to promote repeatability.
- Platform observability: Ensure data pipelines, lineage, and lineage lineage quality thrive through proactive monitoring and alerts.
- Security & compliance alignment: Work closely with IΣ Information Security to reinforce access controls.
- Product-collaboration: Partner with engineering, analysts, and product teams to refine how RADH serves customer needs.
- Cost-performance balance: Iterate platform architecture to align with cost controls and SLA targets.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
