The Role
We are modernising our enterprise data platform to drive smarter, data-driven decision-making in our Retail business. Our Data Operations team owns the Retail & Analytics Data Hub (RADH), harnessing powerful data to empower analytics, reporting, and innovation.
As the Platform Specialist, you will:
- Lead the ongoing evolution of RADH as a strategic enterprise data platform.
- Innovate with Snowflake to enhance performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Serve as a Snowflake subject matter expert, shaping best practices company-wide.
- Strengthen automation through CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and orchestration frameworks.
- Embed observability (monitoring, alerting, lineage, data quality) across the platform.
- Work with Information Security to implement robust governance, security, and access controls.
- Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and product teams to foster platform adoption.
- Optimise costs while maintaining SLAs for availability, performance, and data quality.

Who You Are
We’re looking for a platform engineer with deep expertise in cloud-native data landscapes, specifically in Snowflake and big-data architectures. Key traits include:
- Strong background in data platform, data engineering, or analytics engineering roles.
- Expert-level hands-on experience with Snowflake—core features, optimisation, and trends.
- Proficient with SQL and modern data engineering tools and patterns.
- Experience designing or scaling enterprise data platforms.
- Knowledge of data governance, security, access control, and compliance frameworks.
- Ability to simplify and communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Team-minded with a passion for mentoring, continuous improvement, and next-gen solutions.
