Platform Support Specialist
Platform Support Specialist (ITIL IT Service Management) - London
hackajob is collaborating with QBE Insurance to connect them with exceptional professionals for this Permanent, Full-Time (Hybrid – 2 days in office) role.
The Opportunity
This is an exciting role within the Platform & Service Delivery team, supporting critical business applications while ensuring IT service operations run smoothly. You’ll play a vital role in delivering and improving IT Service Management (ITSM) processes, guaranteeing our platforms are stable, responsive, and fit for purpose.

Your Role
Reporting to the Application Delivery Lead, this Full-time position requires you to support implementation and governance of ITIL-based service processes for critical systems. Collaborating closely with internal tech teams, you’ll ensure:
- Efficient resolution of incidents, problems, and change requests
- Continued delivery of IT services aligned with business needs

Key Responsibilities
ITSM Process Management (ITIL-Focused):

Support Incident, Major Incident, and Request Management

Lead Problem & Change Management activities

Administer Asset & Configuration Management

Ticket Lifecycle Management:
- Manage and track incidents/tickets via tools like ServiceNow
- Prioritise and communicate resolutions effectively

Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with teams (Cyber, Release Management, Attestation)
- Support root cause analysis and continuous process improvement

Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain clear documentation (e.g., Confluence)
- Monitor service performance and provide actionable insights

Operational Excellence:
- Contribute to improving IT service efficiency across platforms
Note: Right to work in the UK is mandatory for this role.
About You: Skills & Experience Needed
QBE is looking for a proactive, curious professional with a passionate connection to technology and service delivery.
Essential Criteria:
- Strong interest in IT (preferably an IT degree or equivalent experience)
- Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITIL knowledge is an advantage)
- Experience with ticketing tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, or equivalents)
- Technical support or IT operations background highly beneficial
- Exceptional problem-solving and multitasking abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to collaborate in tech-driven environments
