Play Leader (Lunchtime Assistant)

11:20am – 1:20pm, Term Time Only

Temporary 1 year in the first instance

Pay Rate: Scale 1, Scale point 3 – 11

Closing date: 1st September 2026

Do you have what it takes to inspire adventure, referee the next generation of football superstars, and remember over 400 names?

We're looking for a Play Leader to join our lunchtime team and help make playtimes the best part of every child's day.

This isn't just a lunchtime assistant role. It's an opportunity to be a champion of play, a problem solver, a race-track designer, a football referee, an explorer, a storyteller and, occasionally, a superhero.

What will you do?

Every day is different, but you might find yourself:

  • ⚽ Refereeing a football match featuring the future Bellingham’s, Lionesses and Premier League stars of tomorrow.
  • ️ Designing epic race tracks from cones, chalk, imagination and whatever resources you can lay your hands on.
  • Inspiring creative play, games and activities that help children make friends, stay active and have fun.
  • Being a trusted adult with a listening ear when someone needs a chat, encouragement or a little bit of support.
  • Helping children develop confidence, resilience and social skills through positive play experiences.
  • ☔ Being an all-weather adventurer who can embrace sunshine, wind, puddles and the occasional snowflake with equal enthusiasm.
  • Spreading positivity, good humour and kindness across the playground every day.
  • Learning the names of over 400 amazing children and making every single one feel valued and known.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
