Part-Time Play Worker – Twinkling Stars, Albemarle Primary School

15 hours per week (Term Time Only) | 3pm–6pm | Fixed Term (One Year) | Start: 13 April 2026

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Play Worker to support our Twinkling Stars programme at Albemarle Primary School, nurturing the wellbeing and development of all children while embodying our school values. You’ll join a dedicated, hard-working team committed to delivering an exciting, inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the welfare and development of children in Twinkling Stars by designing and delivering fun, educational play activities.
  • Model and reinforce our 5R values daily through interactions and lessons.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external partners to create a positive learning environment.
  • Ensure all play areas and materials are safe, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate.
  • Maintain-eighted safeguarding and data protection standards at all times (see below).
  • Help organise and participate in trips, events, and community activities related to Twinkling Stars.

** Essential Requirements**

Personal Qualities

  • Passion for working with children, playful creativity, and commitment to inclusivity.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and liaise with staff and families.
  • Empathy and patience when supporting children’s emotional and developmental needs.

Professional Standards

  • Experience (or enthusiasm) with child-centred play and learning environments is advantageous.
  • Ability to adapt activities to suit various ages and learning styles.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with children and colleagues.
  • Commitment to safeguarding children’s wellbeing (DBS requirements apply).

✅ Enhanced DBS check and barred list clearance are mandatory before starting. ✅ Safeguarding: Hold appropriate training and recognise child protection concerns. ✅ Legal obligations apply:

  • Adherence to Data Protection Act 2018 (ensure data security and confidentiality).
  • Staff must sign post-event participate in annual safeguarding training.
