Playworker - St Augustine’s Academy, Draycott in the Clay

St Augustine's CE Academy

Role: Wraparound Care Playworker (Grade 3)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM (Term Time Only, including September INSET Days)

Contract: Permanent Salary: Grade 3 (Pro Rata equivalents) Location: St Augustine’s CE Academy, Draycott in the Clay

Start Date: 1st September 2026 Application Closing Date: Monday 6th July Interviews: Monday 13th July


We are seeking a motivated and responsible Wraparound Care Playworker to support our after-school provision. This role is perfect for someone who is organized, proactive, and passionate about working with children in a nurturing setting.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise children in a safe, caring, and stimulating environment
  • Support the planning and delivery of enrichment and recreational activities
  • Act as a key holder, including opening and securing the setting when required
  • Assist with risk assessments for wrap-around activities
  • Ensure the welfare and safety of all children at all times
  • Support personal care needs, including changing nappies

Qualifications & Requirements

Essential:

  • Paediatric First Aid qualification (or commitment to complete training)
  • Level 1 Safeguarding certification (or willingness to undertake training)

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working with children in a wrap-around care setting

Key Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and safegarding compliance
