PLM Implementation Specialist
Location: Chelmsford, Essex (4 days onsite) Contract: 3-Month contract (likely extension to 6 months) Rate: £500 - £600 per day
We’re supporting a high-technology engineering and manufacturing business that delivers complex, low-volume products to highly regulated industries, including space, science, and advanced industrial applications.
They require an experienced PLM Implementation Specialist to help embed change management processes across live engineering programmes while also supporting early-stage MBOM transformation readiness activity within a PTC Windchill environment. This hands-on role focuses on operational adoption, working directly with:
- Engineering
- Quality
- Operations
- Project teams
to standardise ways of working, improve governance, and drive engagement with established PLM processes.

Key Responsibilities
- Embed PLM / engineering change processes into day-to-day project activities
- Drive cross-functional adoption and process consistency across teams
- Deliver training and user guidance to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Support MBOM transformation readiness and assess BOM structure
- Produce clear documentation, procedures, and implementation recommendations
- Operate within an ISO 9001-regulated manufacturing environment
Requirements
✔ Experience implementing or embedding PLM / change management processes in manufacturing
✔ Familiarity with PTC Windchill workflows and BOM structures (preferred)

✔ Strong stakeholder engagement and training capability
✔ Experience working on live engineering projects with cross-functional teams
✔ Understanding of engineering change control and regulated environments
Desirable Qualifications
➕ Experience in aerospace, defence, space, or advanced engineering sectors
➕ Knowledge of MBOM / EBOM and manufacturing data structures
➕ Exposure to digital thread or PLM / ERP integration concepts
