We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Plumber to Join our NRS Account in NRS Harwell, 10 Rutherford Ave, Didcot OX11 0DF – This role will be based on site.
The hours of work will be 37 hours per week:
Week 1 - 7:45 - 5:00pm Monday- Thursday
Friday - 7:45 - 12:15pm
Week 2
Week 1 - 7:45 - 5:00pm Monday- Thursday
Friday - Off.
This role also requires a call out rota which will be 1 in 7 weeks.
You will need a full UK driving licence for this role (company van will be provided)
As Mechanical Fitter / Plumber / Pipefitter you will support the Maintenance team in the provision of a high quality service; ensuring the upkeep of designated areas by carrying out maintenance of boiler, water systems and specific duties as directed.
What You Will Do
Carry out general maintenance and repair tasks across boilers, water systems, drainage and gas systems Perform routine checks, inspections and fault finding on plant, equipment and pipe systems Install, test and maintain pipework systems (steam, gas, water, chemicals) in commercial/industrial settings Conduct boiler operations and monitoring, including pressure, temperature, water levels and restart procedures Complete repairs, replacements and troubleshooting of plumbing systems, fixtures and components Undertake water hygiene and Legionella control tasks (temperature checks, flushing, cleaning outlets) Record maintenance activities, meter readings and testing results on client systems Ensure chemical treatment and stock control for boiler and water systems Liaise with contractors and follow site safety, compliance and building regulations Support business continuity and respond to breakdowns and urgent maintenance issues
What You Will Bring
Experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Plumber, Pipefitter or similar Strong background in maintenance, testing and fault finding on boilers, gas systems, pumps and plant equipment Gas Safe registration and relevant gas qualifications (e.g. COCN1, CCN1, TPCP1, CODNCO1) Ability to carry out planned maintenance and water hygiene Good communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision Flexible, proactive and detail-oriented approach with high standards of work Physically capable with manual handling and dexterity Knowledge of health & safety regulations and safe working practices Willingness to work in radiological controlled environments and undertake required training/clearance Ability to work in a busy environment, potentially including on-call rota
