Plumber

- Rate: £16.23 per hour (up to)
- Location: Dover
- Contract: Full-Time Permanent
- Hours: 42.5 hours per week (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM)
- Additional Benefits: Company van & fuel card
About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced and dependable Plumber to join our expanding team, supporting a busy Planned works contract in Dover. This practical, hands-on role involves carrying out a wide range of plumbing repairs and maintenance tasks in occupied social housing properties.
You’ll ensure residents’ homes remain safe, functional, and comfortable by fixing leaks, tackling drainage issues, or resolving heating system faults. With a strong emphasis on customer service, you’ll work directly with residents, providing professional and reliable service.

Key Responsibilities
Core Duties
- Carry out planned plumbing repairs in occupied properties
- Diagnose and repair leaks, blockages, and drainage issues
- Replace taps, toilets, cisterns, basins, and sanitary ware
- Repair or replace pipework, valves, and fittings
- Investigate and resolve issues with hot water systems and radiators
- Ensure all work complies with current plumbing regulations and health & safety standards
- Record job details, materials used, and completion notes using handheld devices or job sheets
- Remove, repair, or replace bath panels as required for leak detection and repair, ensuring finishing is professional
- Maintain tools, equipment, and the company vehicle in good working order
- Work respectfully in residents’ homes, maintaining a clean and safe environment
- Identify and report additional works, safeguarding concerns, or property issues
- Participate in out-of-hours emergency rotas when required
- Provide high levels of customer care at all times

Requirements & Criteria
- Proven experience in domestic plumbing repairs and maintenance
- Full UK driving licence (must hold for over 3 months and have <9 points; aged over 21)
- Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Excellent customer service skills, with experience in occupied dwellings
- Good understanding of health & safety regulations and safe working practices
- Ability to use handheld devices or job management systems for record-keeping
- Willingness to participate in out-of-hours emergency rotas
Additional Notes
- Right to work in the UK is required—no visa sponsorship currently available.
- All roles require Background, Identity & Security checks.
- Must adhere to company policies and hold a valid licence as a driver.
