We have an opportunity for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician specialising in plumbing and mechanical repairs to work as part of our Leeds team, providing both planned and responsive maintenance expertise.
This is a permanent full time position working 37.5 hours, 5-days per week. You will be part of the maintenance team that covers shift patterns between 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. The salary is £38,499 per annum plus overtime.
Please note that a current UK manual driving licence is essential for this role alongside a valid domestic gas safe qualification.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance in accordance with the Service Level Agreement and provide front line response for all plumbing and mechanical work
- Undertake all work in a safe working environment, assessing all Health and Safety issues before work commences and report any hazards or safety issues to the relevant Manager
- Carry out PPM in accordance with the schedule & liaise with specialist sub-contractors
- Maintain accurate records of breakdowns and maintenance repairs, including records for statutory compliance
- Assist with statutory testing including fire alarm testing, fire extinguisher, fire blanket and fire detector checks, water temperature monitoring, shower head cleaning and emergency lighting checks
- Take the lead in building fabric stock management (ordering, storage, distribution) ensuring appropriate parts are held and available to meet SLA timescales for repair
- Assist team colleagues in other trades as and when required including cross-trade skills sharing

We are looking for to already be a skilled plumber within a maintenance environment with a range of repair work experience. You will also have great communication and organisation skills, always delivering work to a high standard.
Alongside this, you will have a good understanding of the operational procedures and safe working practices of building services and systems as well as good understanding of health and safety, with the ability to always work in a safe manner.
You will also be prepared to work (with notice) additional hours when the needed, especially during the main student arrival and departure weekends every year.
