About The Role…

As a Plumbing and Drainage Engineer, you will work from a fully equipped company van, delivering services across a wide range of environments including commercial, residential, industrial, rail, road and utility sites.

You will carry out drainage and plumbing works, assess asset conditions, analyse findings and produce high-quality reports. You will also work alongside jetting units when required, taking responsibility for site activity and ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and within agreed timescales.

You will…

  • Complete all work as directed by the planning team
  • Ensure compliance with working hours, health and safety, quality and environmental standards
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any issues
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures at all times
  • Report all site-related incidents promptly
  • Complete job sheets for every task, including photographic evidence
  • Identify issues early and take action to prevent escalation
  • Ensure the correct equipment is available and used for each task
  • Deliver a first-time fix approach wherever possible
  • Take responsibility for all site work and outputs
  • Produce accurate reports and raise recommendations for further work where required
  • Use systems such as Big Change, FYLD and Ipsum Live Jobs to record and manage work
  • Build strong working relationships with clients, colleagues and stakeholders
  • Work flexibly as part of a 24/7 operation, including early starts, weekends and UK travel when required

About You…

We are looking for a skilled and motivated individual with experience in drainage or plumbing who takes pride in delivering high-quality work and excellent customer service.

  • Previous experience within the utilities or drainage industry
  • Full, clean driving licence
  • NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing or above
  • Experience with rotary cleaning equipment
  • Confined Space Level 2 (or above)
  • High-pressure water jetting experience
  • Manual Handling and First Aid at Work certification
  • CSCS card and Fit to Work status
  • Water Hygiene and Reverse Assist experience
  • PTS or HGV qualifications desirable but not essential
  • Experience in a customer-focused environment
  • Strong understanding of health and safety practices
  • Knowledge of waste network operations
  • IT literate with Microsoft Office capability
  • Ability to produce clear and accurate reports
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships
  • Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated, organised and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Flexible and professional approach to work
