Plumbing & Heating Product Sales Executive – MKM (Southport Branch)

As a Plumbing & Heating Sales Executive, you will take an active role in growing MKM’s product sales—maximising revenue, expanding our customer base, and becoming the go-to destination for UK plumbing and heating supplies.
About the Role

Your role will focus on building customer relationships, maximising sales opportunities, and delivering exceptional service—both in-store and remotely—while fostering trust through deeply knowledgeable guidance.
This is a direct customer-facing, proactive sales position. It is essential you demonstrate enthusiasm, resilience, and the ability to turn every interaction into a sale.
Key Responsibilities
- Expand our customer base – Identify and nurture new relationships across the trade and DIY markets.
- Deliver professional quotations and advice – Provide accurate pricing, efficient follow-ups, and outstanding product expertise.
- Manage stock levels – Ensure plumbing and heating products are well-stocked, reducing delays for customers.
- Sell face-to-face and over the phone – Engage with customers both in-person and remotely to exceed sales targets.
- Provide exemplary customer service – Prioritise satisfaction, resolve issues proactively, and decorporate expertise transparently.
- Convert opportunities into sales – Seize every possible moment to up-sell or cross-sell related products (e.g., fittings, taps, heating appliances).
- Monitor competitive pricing – Use insights on market trends to enhance our customer pricing strategy.

Key Skills & Experience
MKM values closeness to the customer, a result-driven work ethic, and ongoing personal commitment. We are seeking a candidate—regardless of background—who:
- Has specialised plumbing & heating product knowledge – A deep understanding of MKM’s light-sided range is non-negotiable.
- Posesses prior sales experience in builders’ merchants or plumbing supply – Knowledge of hardware, heating systems, and trade-level interactions is critical.
- Is customer-centric – Must build rapport quickly, solve problems professionally, and make customers feel valued.
- Leverages communication effectively – Exceptional listening, speaking, and negotiation skills are essential both orally and in writing.
- Is tech-savvy – Experienced with computerised stock systems, invoice processing, and sales databases.
- Demonstrates flexibility – Capable of adjusting to busy periods, varying demands, and constant great customer experiences.
