Plumbing and Heating Manager

Plumbing & Heating Sales Specialist

In this role, you’ll take responsibility for driving sales within our plumbing and heating product range, playing a critical part in expanding our market share and strengthening customer relationships.

About the Role

You’ll be responsible for expanding our customer base, maximizing sales and profitability, and positioning MKM as the go-to choice for light-side supplies. Success will require proactive engagement, strong customer service, and deep product expertise.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Grow the customer base – Identify and expand market opportunities to increase sales
  • Provide accurate quotations – Prepare and deliver customer quotes efficiently
  • Purchase materials & manage stock – Ensure optimal stock levels for seamless business operations
  • Engage with customers – Build and maintain professional relationships, both in-person and via telephone
  • Deliver exceptional service & product advice – Guarantee customer satisfaction through expert guidance
  • Drive proactive sales – Leverage every opportunity to secure or upgrade sales in plumbing and heating

Person Specification

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Strong plumbing and heating product knowledge – Essential for providing expert advice
  • Previous sales experience in a related merchant or builders’ merchant environment
  • Exceptional customer service skills – To engage effectively with clients
  • Relationship-building aptitude – Abilities to foster lasting customer connections
  • Clear communication & interpersonal abilities – Strengthen collaboration via telephone and in-person
  • Proficiency with computers – For order processing, CRM systems and record-keeping
