Salary: £30,500 - £31,500 + DOE plus on-call, overtime & benefits
Areas covered: Bolton, Wigan, Preston, Blackburn, Oldham, and the Fylde Coast
Metro Plumb is a national plumbing business with more than 40 local depots across the UK. Our teams of professional plumbers can deal with a variety of plumbing issues, from emergency repairs and stopping leaks to fixing broken boilers and replacing dripping taps.
Here at Metro Plumb, we work alongside our sister companies to provide a complete “water in, waste out” service for our customers. As part of Franchise Brands PLC, our customers benefit from access to over 600 drainage, pump, plumbing, and FOG engineers. We can provide you with access to specialist expertise, and one point of contact for all drainage, plumbing, pump, and FOG works, as well as a unique refrigeration seal replacement offering.

By providing a wide range of services, Metro Plumb are able to support customers, both domestic and commercial. As well as this, we manage national contracts such as facilities management, insurance companies, private and funded care facilities, and social housing.

Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, fixtures, and appliances.
- Service, fault-find, and repair heating systems, boilers, and associated controls.
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance works.
- Diagnose faults and provide effective solutions in a timely manner.
- Complete relevant documentation and job reports, accurately.
- Ensure all work complies with current legislation, regulations, and health and safety requirements.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain professional relationships with clients.
- Participate in an out-of-hours emergency call-out rota (currently 1 in 3 weeks).
What are we looking for?
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Plumber & Heating Engineer to undertake installation, maintenance, servicing, and repair works across a broad range of customer sites.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who takes pride in delivering high standards of workmanship, enjoys problem-solving, and values providing outstanding customer service. You will cover a range of sectors including domestic residential properties, hospitality, retail, social housing, and commercial businesses and facilities - giving you the range and variety of work where every day is different!

Essential criteria
- NVQ Level 2 Plumbing qualification (or equivalent)
- Proven experience as a Plumbing & Heating Engineer for both domestic and commercial customers
- Gas safe registration
- Unvented certification - desirable
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Customer-focused approach
- Team player
- DBS checked (or willingness for this to be carried out)
- Full UK driving license
- Flexibility to work overtime
