PMO Analyst – Defence Programme (Hybrid, UK)

As a PMO Analyst, you’ll gain hands-on experience in programme delivery, governance, and reporting, evolving your skills in a fast-paced, collaborative team.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain and organise programme documentation, ensuring alignment with agreed processes and keeping information accurate and up to date.
  • Collect, monitor, and analyse data to support financial and resource planning across the programme.
  • Assist in producing reports, dashboards, and performance information for programme reviews and decision-making, using tools like Excel and Power BI.
  • Support the development of clear, user-friendly reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with programme teams, project managers, and engineers to ensure timely, accurate outputs, including work package information, risks, assumptions, and dependencies.
  • Support contract change and new work proposal activities, ensuring smooth transitions and accurate records.
  • Learn and apply PMO tools, processes, and best practices in practical environments, supported by experienced colleagues.

Key Requirements

Essential:

  • Experience (or demonstrated skills) in a PMO, project support, or administrative role (or transferrable skills).
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in data and reporting.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Aptitude for analytical thinking, organised workflows, and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal), document preparation, and reporting.

Helpful:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook), and experience with Power BI or MS Project.
  • Qualification in project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2 Foundation, APM PFQ) or a willingness to pursue one.
  • Familiarity with Agile project delivery methodologies.
