PMO Analyst - ETP

PMO Analyst – ETP (£33,000 - £38,000, 12 Month Fixed-Term Contract)

Reports to: PMO Manager Grade: P1 Directorate: Chief Operating Office Location: Stratford, London – Office-based with high flexibility (1–2 days per week) Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week) Closing Dates:

  • Internal: 10 July 2026

Summary of the Role

The Engage Transformation Programme (ETP) aims to inspire millions more people to support Cancer Research UK’s mission by delivering:

  • Brilliant, audience-centred products, services, and experiences
  • Data- and digitally-driven solutions
  • Innovative approaches that better meet people’s needs

As a PMO Analyst, you will support the ETP Programme Director and PMO Manager, ensuring effective governance and delivery through key programme management functions.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Programme Governance

  • Maintain the high-level delivery roadmap, ensuring it provides:
    • Clear visibility of strategic milestones, decision points, critical dependencies, and sequencing
    • Effective alignment with leaders for informed and timely progress
  • Support the quarterly planning cycle, including:
    • Facilitating collaboration with stakeholders
    • Distributing outputs and facilitating approvals
    • Integrating plans into business-as-usual (BAU) logs
    • Schedule reporting mechanisms

Delivery & Progress Tracking

  • Monitor progress across all ETP initiatives, including:
    • Gathering key data on status and priorities
    • Flagging risks, issues, or deviations
    • Drawing insights from PMO data for proactive risk mitigation

Portfolio Management Documentation

  • Maintain consistent use of controls across:
    • Risk and action frameworks
    • Decision-making processes
    • Ensuring alignment with CRUK standards and practices

Reporting & Governance Support

  • Partner with leadership to develop high-quality programme reporting, including:
    • Data-driven insights for informed decision-making
    • Clear communication to Trustees, Executive Board (EB), Steerco, and team meetings
  • Ensure agendas, inputs, and outputs support strong programme governance

Deliverable Management

  • Proactively lead the creation of high-quality deliverables, including:
    • Governance documents
    • Business cases
    • Content deep dives
  • Brief responsible parties with:
    • Clear templates and timelines
    • Defined division of responsibilities
    • Adherence to quality standards

Essential Technical Skills, Knowledge & Behaviours

Project & Programme Management

  • Proven experience in project management and planning, particularly in technologically driven environments
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, dynamic settings

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships across diverse stakeholders
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities

Analytical & Decision-Making Ability

  • Strong problem-solving skills, quickly identifying and resolving issues
  • Excellent capacity to analyze data, compare options, and present clear recommendations

Attention to Detail & Accuracy

  • Precision in governance documents to enable effective oversight, discussion, and decision-making

Communication & Facilitation

  • Skilled at crafting and delivering communications to multiple audiences
  • Experience in designing and facilitating meetings for clear objectives

Microsoft Office Proficiency

  • Advanced/learned knowledge of MS Office tools (e.g., Power BI, Teams)
