PMO Data Analyst
Data Analyst (PMO) – Future Combat Air System (FCAS) Portfolio Office
Location: GB - Luton (with hybrid options and additional presence in Edinburgh)
Salary Range: £45,000 - £60,000

We are seeking a motivated and inquisitive Data Analyst to join the Performance Team within the FCAS Portfolio Office. Collaborating with Business and Data Analysts reporting to the Performance Lead, you will ensure optimised data flows, create insightful reports, and humanise complex data to drive data-driven decision-making and improve operational efficiency.
Your work will enable meaningful insights across the organisation, supporting Senior Leadership, Programme Managers, and Integrated Project Teams. Using Power BI and other systems, you will consolidate and simplify business management data, revealing strategies to improve efficiency at both strategic and operational levels.
Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Management
- Retrieve, structure, and analyse business management data from across programmes and functions, identifying data integrity issues and implementing fixes.
- Analyse and reconcile multiple data sources to ensure consistency.
- Implement data quality improvements and suggest workflow streamlining.

Reporting & Visualisation
- Support the maintenance and development of interactive Power BI dashboards and other analytical tools.
- Collaborate with stakeholders on reporting requirements.
- Enhance reporting to optimise Portfolio Performance, Programme/ Product Management, and Leonardo business needs.

Stakeholder Engagement
- Participate in team user testing, peer reviews, and validation sessions.
- On occasion, facilitate requirements gathering workshops or stakeholder forums.
- Communicate insights to technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring clarity and alignment with strategic goals.

Tool & Process Improvement
- Support the roll-out of new tools/training where applicable.
- Suggest improvements to data processes and automation within the team.
Requirements
Essential
✅ Strong analytical skills with expertise in manipulating and interpreting large datasets. ✅ Proven experience with Power BI, including building and maintaining interactive dashboards. ✅ Ability to design clear, intuitive, and user-focused visualisations that support decision-making. ✅ Proficiency in data modelling and structural analysis, ensuring data integrity in reporting. ✅ Exceptional data storytelling skills—ability to distil complex information into actionable insights. ✅ High attention to detail—focus on accuracy, consistency, and reliability of outputs. ✅ Experience in automating reporting processes and optimising dashboard performance.
Advantageous but Not Essential
⚡ Experience in business management environments. ⚡ Familiarity with SAP, P6 Primavera, Business Objects, or similar systems. ⚡ Knowledge of Python or R for advanced data analysis. ⚡ Experience with SQL, data pipelines, or pipeline orchestration. ⚡ Proficiency with Atlassian tools (Confluence, Jira). ⚡ Ability to work in a flexible, cross-functional team and adapt priorities accordingly.
Security Clearance
This role requires pre-employment screening under the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). Additional National Security Vetting (NSV) may apply, including eligibility for:
- Security Check (SC) or
- Developed Vetting (DV)
