PMO Lead

Senior Programme Manager – Programme Manager Office (PMO)

Base Location: You’ll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of the following locations: Perth, Glasgow, or Reading.

Salary: £71,869 - £85,880 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing, and family.

Working Pattern: 12-month Fixed Term Contract | Full Time | Flexible First options available.


The Role

You will support the coordination and governance of a large-scale cyber security programme, helping to manage reporting, financial data, and delivery tracking across multiple projects. This role sits at the heart of programme delivery and offers strong exposure to senior stakeholders and complex transformation work.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

  • Lead the day-to-day management of the PMO team, ensuring high-quality programme reporting to governance forums and senior stakeholders, including:
    • Preparation of executive-level management and governance packs
    • Oversight of regulatory submissions and RAIDs
    • Actions, resource, and financial management and reporting
  • Monitor programme delivery from inception to closure, ensuring it is on time and within budget, while:
    • Resolving deviations from baseline
    • Ensuring robust tracking of actions and follow-ups
  • Operate governance processes across the programme, including:
    • Facilitation of governance forums
    • Financial approvals
    • Benefit realisation reporting and programme assurance
  • Lead capacity and resource management across the PMO team, including:
    • Resource planning, reporting, and forecasting
    • Alignment to delivery priorities
  • Build, develop, and lead a high-performing PMO team, providing:
    • Guidance on project and programme management processes
    • Best use of tools and governance standards

Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience leading or working within a programme or PMO environment
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Good understanding of delivery governance, reporting, and financial control
  • Advanced Excel and Power BI skills for data analysis and reporting
  • An analytical and structured approach to problem-solving and decision-making
