PMO Project Planner – SRO RAPID & Major Projects Programme

About the Role

We’re looking for a talented PMO Project Planner to play a pivotal role in delivering our SRO RAPID and Major Projects programme, shaping nationally significant water infrastructure for the future.

As part of a high-performing PMO, you’ll:

  • Develop, integrate, and oversee project and programme plans
  • Provide the insight and control needed to keep complex projects on track
  • Deliver against critical business objectives

Reporting to the Senior Programme Manager, you’ll collaborate with:

  • Project Delivery teams
  • SRO Technical specialists
  • External partners

Location: Head Office in Coventry | Hours: 37 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain integrated project and programme schedules for SRO Major Projects, including critical path, recovery, and contingency planning
  • Embed PMO planning standards, governance, and controls across complex, multi-supplier environments
  • Align supplier schedules into a single, integrated master programme to support RAPID-regulated schemes
  • Monitor performance against plan, analyse variances, and proactively identify risks to milestones and critical paths
  • Produce clear, tailored reporting (graphical, written, data-driven) for project/programme/portfolio decision-making
  • Support resource planning, change control, and impact assessments, identifying risks and opportunities
  • Ensure alignment with RAPID/Ofwat Major Projects gate requirements and governance

What We’re Looking For

We need someone with:

  • Proven experience in project and programme planning within a PMO environment
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6
  • Advanced Excel skills with experience in analysis and reporting
  • Experience in fast-paced, complex programmes or major projects
  • A confident communicator who can challenge teams and suppliers constructively
  • Good understanding of project controls, scheduling, and commercial awareness
  • A full UK driving licence
