PMO Project Controller

PMO Project Controller – SRO Programme (Severn Trent)

About the Role

Severn Trent is more than just a water company—we’re a values-driven organisation committed to sustainability, environmental protection, and serving communities across the UK. By joining us, you’ll champion innovation, high-impact national infrastructure projects, and forward-thinking solutions.

We’re empowered by nearly 10,000 like-minded colleagues who are as passionate about creating a greener future as you are. As our PMO Project Controller, you’ll lead and drive the SRO Programme—a high-stakes portfolio of critical projects backed by top-tier risk management, governance, and strategic foresight.

This role isn’t just about managing projects—it’s about succeeding where others falter, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and impact through sharply analytical leadership. If you thrive in a mission-driven environment and have experience in Programme Management, this is an opportunity to really make a difference.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership in PMO Policies: Implement and embed policies on risk management, change control, assurance, and reporting across the SRO Programme, ensuring alignment with national infrastructure expectations.
  • Strategic Governance: Champion corporate risk management, change reporting, cost planning, and assurance—propelling projects forward with scientific analysis and proactive mitigation.
  • Monthly Risk Reviews: Drive structured risk assessments (internal and regulatory reporting) with accuracy and mitigation strategies to deliver transparent and data-driven insights.
  • SRO Regulatory Compliance: Oversee assurance and governance processes for regulatory submissions, presenting key project insights to senior leaders in a clear, high-impact format.
  • Performance Insight & Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement, while reinforcing the importance of the PMO as a leadership-driven centre of excellence.
  • Lead risk reviews, track schedules (including Critical Path, baseline metrics, and milestone alignment), and advocate for adherence to timelines and quality standards.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
