At Xcel Health FCP, we are a leading provider of First Contact Practitioners (FCP) to NHS Primary Care Networks (PCNs) across the UK. Since 2019, we have delivered high-quality physiotherapy and musculoskeletal (MSK) services, drawing on extensive private practice experience to provide tailored solutions that ease GP workload and enhance patient care. Our FCPs integrate into Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDTs) as trusted colleagues, supporting seamless and efficient service delivery. Role Description: This is a full-time & Part-Time, on-site FCP Podiatrist role.
The FCP Podiatrist will provide first-contact assessment, diagnosis, and management of a wide range of foot and lower limb conditions within primary care, including MSK, diabetic, and wound-related presentations. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Conducting comprehensive podiatric and biomechanical assessments
- Prescribing and reviewing orthotics
- Planning and delivering evidence-based treatment
- Advising on self-management and prevention

The role also involves:
- Close collaboration with GPs, nurses, and other MDT members
- Contributing to care pathways
- Documenting clinical activity in line with NHS standards
- Participating in service development and audit activities
Qualifications
- Clinical expertise in Podiatry, with strong assessment and treatment skills for common foot and lower limb conditions.
- Relevant knowledge in Medicine and Diabetes to safely manage patients with complex needs and long-term conditions in primary care.
- Competence in Biomechanics and Orthotics for gait analysis, functional assessment, and prescription or modification of foot orthoses.
- Recognised degree or diploma in Podiatry and current registration with the appropriate professional regulatory body (e.g., HCPC or equivalent).
- Experience working in NHS, primary care, or community settings, or similar advanced practice role.
- Strong record-keeping skills, understanding of clinical governance, and commitment to evidence-based practice and continuing professional development.
- Effective communication, teamwork, and time-management skills, with the ability to work autonomously within an MDT environment.
