Job Overview
The Clinic Support Worker provides clinical, administrative and patient coordination support to the Podiatry Service, working under the direction of registered podiatrists and the Team Leader. The post holder will support the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care across a range of clinical settings, including hospitals, health centres, community clinics and domiciliary visits.
The role involves assisting specialist podiatrists in nail surgery, wound care and assessment clinics, providing foot care and patient education, coordinating patient appointments, responding to enquiries from patients, carers and healthcare professionals, and ensuring the smooth running of clinics. The post holder will also provide cross-cover for colleagues during periods of annual leave and sickness, support health promotion activities, assist with student placements where required, and ensure clinical equipment and stock are maintained in line with service standards.
The post holder will work across the East (Barking & Dagenham and Havering), the West (Redbridge and Waltham Forest), or the Foot Protection Service across NELFT, contributing to the delivery of safe, effective and responsive podiatry services while promoting foot health and reducing the risk of foot ulceration.
Main Duties of the Job
- Provide clinical, administrative and patient support to the Podiatry Service.
- Assist the administrative team.
- Assist podiatrists with delegated clinical tasks in a range of clinic and community settings.
- Coordinate patient appointments and support the efficient running of podiatry clinics.
- Maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with Trust policies and professional standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients, carers and the multidisciplinary team.
- Contribute to audit, service improvement and quality assurance activities.
- Support the induction and training of new staff and students where appropriate.
- Work flexibly across the service to meet operational needs and provide cross-cover as required.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to service improvement initiatives.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Goodmayes.
Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

High Cost Area Supplement Outer London (B&D, Redbridge, Havering and Waltham Forest, Goodmayes)
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,870 to a maximum of £6,137 p.a. pro rata for part time).
