Political Violence & Terrorism Wholesale Broker

Bowring Marsh is Marsh’s specialty wholesale broking business, providing expert placement and advisory support across complex and specialist insurance risks. Working closely with clients, insurers, and colleagues across the Marsh network, Bowring Marsh delivers tailored solutions, market insight, and high-quality service in lines including political violence, terrorism, and other specialist classes.

What can you expect:

As a Political Violence & Terrorism Wholesale Broker, you will play a key role in supporting the placement and servicing of specialist insurance business across the political violence and terrorism market. You will work closely with clients, insurers, and internal teams to deliver high-quality broking solutions, helping to structure, negotiate, and place cover that meets complex and evolving client needs.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a specialist broking team where you will build strong market relationships, deepen your technical expertise, and contribute to the growth of a highly visible and strategically important product line.

We will count on you to:

  • Support the placement of political violence and terrorism insurance business into the wholesale market
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with insurers, clients, and internal stakeholders
  • Assist with the preparation of broking presentations, submissions, market slips, endorsements, and renewal documentation
  • Work with colleagues to structure tailored solutions for clients based on their risk profile and coverage requirements
  • Help negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with carrier partners
  • Manage day-to-day servicing of accounts, ensuring accuracy, responsiveness, and a high standard of client service
  • Stay informed on market developments, emerging risks, and changes affecting the political violence and terrorism insurance landscape
  • Support new business opportunities and contribute to the growth of the practice
  • Maintain compliance with internal processes, regulatory requirements, and professional standards
  • Provide technical support to colleagues and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team

What you need to have:

  • Experience in insurance broking, ideally within political violence and terrorism, or at minimum within broader insurance broking
  • Strong understanding of the insurance placement process and market dynamics
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
  • Confidence in working with clients, insurers, and internal teams
  • Good commercial awareness and problem-solving ability
  • Strong written and verbal presentation skills
  • A proactive, organised, and professional approach to work
  • Cert CII, or currently studying toward it, would be ideal

What makes you stand out:

  • Previous experience in political violence and terrorism insurance
  • Exposure to wholesale broking and specialist or niche lines of business
  • A strong network across the London or international insurance market
  • Experience handling complex placements or bespoke client programs
  • A track record of contributing to business growth or client retention
  • Strong technical knowledge of specialist insurance products
  • An enthusiastic, collaborative approach and a genuine interest in developing within the specialty market
