We are recruiting for Pollution Response Technicians across the entire Kent region as part of an exciting contract win with Southern Water. Position Details
- Job Title: Pollution Response Technician
- Location: Tonbridge Depot, Kent
- Employment Type: Permanent, full-time
- Hours: 5 days on, 2 days off (weekend work included)
- Salary: £30,500 per annum

The Pollution Response Technician plays a critical role in ensuring efficient, safe, and compliant management of pollution incidents. Your duties include:

- Incident response: Rapid first response to pollution-related issues, coordinating site operations and mitigation.
- Incident management: Leverage strong communication with internal teams (Customer Solutions Centre, incident verification team) and external stakeholders (clients, Environment Agency, local authorities).
- Mitigation & remediation: Lead site investigations, identify causes, and plan/coordinate pollution mitigation or follow-up works.
- Contractor facilitation: Oversee third-party contractors to ensure timely remediation and service restoration.
- Evidence capture: Maintain high-standard records (photos, data in Big Change) for legislative compliance and quality assurance.
- Safety compliance: Demonstrate a no-compromise approach to health & safety (H&S), conducting risk assessments and maintaining policy standards.
- Stakeholder management: Deliver world-class customer service—being proactive, accountable, and transparent.
- Reporting & flexibility: Adhere to ad-hoc duties dictated by management requirements and situations requiring swift, informed action.

Requirements
Essential Criteria:
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Commitment to a safety-first culture and strict compliance with Lanes Group policies.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure—when incidents occur, your judgement makes the difference.
- Self-motivation and dedication to providing excellent customer service.

Desirable/Skills luce:
- Experience with high-pressure jetting equipment
- Qualifications in NRSWA (sewer & den block drainage) or confined space access.
- Strong awareness of environmental regulations and impact minimisation.
- Technical aptitude for diagnosing and resolving issues.
