Role Purpose

Westonbirt School is seeking an ambitious, entrepreneurial Polo Team Manager to lead, develop and promote all aspects of our Polo provision, delivered in partnership with the world-famous Beaufort Polo Club.

This is both a strategic and operational role, responsible for delivering an outstanding pupil experience while building a vibrant, sustainable and high-profile Polo programme that directly supports pupil recruitment and admissions.

Initially the role will be heavily weighted towards building and promoting the programme, forging relationships, marketing and pupil recruitment. Over time, as the number of players builds, the role will rebalance towards a mix of these aspects and operational management of players and programmes and raising the school’s profile through participation in fixtures and tournaments.

The successful candidate will combine a passion for Polo and player development with the entrepreneurial and business development skills needed to create and fill the Polo programme as an important driver of new pupil attraction, enrolment and retention.

The role encompasses:

  • Creating and launching the Westonbirt Polo Academy
  • Growing Polo provision for beginners and intermediate players
  • Building an ambitious programme of matches and tournaments
  • Launching exciting Polo programmes as part of the summer school and other holiday programmes

Key Responsibilities

Programme Design, Launch & Student Recruitment

(majority of time and effort during initial year in the role)

  • Design and launch a high-quality Polo Academy in partnership with Beaufort Polo Club as a distinctive and market-leading feature of the school’s offer
  • Position the Academy as a flagship recruitment tool, attracting talented riders from the UK and internationally
  • Network with Polo clubs, associations and other key influencers locally, nationally and internationally to promote the programme and identify potential students
  • Build strong links with local feeder schools, polo clubs and pony clubs to raise the profile of the Polo Academy and seeking to build relationships and recruit potential students
  • Attend key events in the Polo calendar such as the Pony Club Polo Championships as a representative of the school
  • Work closely with Admissions and Marketing to attract prospective pupils with an interest in Polo, including through the creation of marketing content
  • Actively contribute to admissions activity including attending open days, agent tours, and leading meetings and visits with prospective Polo Academy students

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
