Polymer Chemist

An established advanced manufacturing business is looking to appoint an experienced Polymer Chemist to provide technical leadership across materials, chemistry and product development.
This is a key technical position where you'll act as the subject matter expert, supporting engineering, manufacturing, and R&D teams while helping shape future materials and product innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical authority for polymer chemistry and materials.
- Provide expert advice on material selection, chemistry, and performance.
- Support new product development and continuous improvement projects.
- Advise on material compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical support across manufacturing, engineering, HSE, and quality functions.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on materials and R&D initiatives.
- Opportunity to take responsibility for an R&D and testing laboratory.

What we are looking for
- Around 7 to 10 years' experience in polymer chemistry within manufacturing or industry.
- Degree qualified in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline. A PhD would be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of polymer and composite materials.
- Knowledge of tribology would be beneficial.
- Organised, proactive, and able to communicate technical information effectively across multiple teams.
