Description
The Pool Maintenance Specialist Trainee will maintain pools at client's and associated facilities for the company.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assists Pool Maintenance Specialist to clean and maintain filled pools and facilities by skimming, vacuuming, and performing chemical treatments.
- Periodically empties pools to perform deep cleaning, including brushing and scrubbing walls, floors, and surfaces.
- Assists Pool Service Specialist to regularly test pool water for pH; chlorine; presence of bacteria, algae, or contaminants; and other data.
- Receives training from the Pool Service Specialist to ensure correct color, chemistry, and clarity of pool water.
- Calculates and adds chemical treatments to maintain pH balance, eliminate contaminants, or correct other problems.
- Inspects pool and equipment.
- Assists Pool Service Specialist to complete and maintain daily logs outlining chemical usage, water quality, repairs, and supplies.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Understanding of pool cleaning chemicals and equipment related to swimming pools.
- Mechanical and manual labor skills related to aquatic facilities and equipment.
- Math skills to calculate chemical additives and ratios.

Education And Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One year of related experience required.
- Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds at a time.
- Must have adequate sight and hearing to properly interpret water analysis, equipment readings, and complete recordkeeping.
- Physically able to perform all aspects of cleaning, checking, and monitoring pools and facilities.
