Pool Systems Designer — SketchUp / Technical CAD (Equipment & Utility Design) — Long-Term Remote

Technical Pool Systems Designer

Our systems-driven custom pool, landscaping, and outdoor living company based in Utah, USA, builds high-end concrete pools, spas, and outdoor living spaces. We're looking for a technical designer to own the engineering-drawing side of all our projects, ensuring our field crews and permit submittals receive clean, dimensioned drawings alongside complete material lists every time.

This is a technical, dimensional, detail-driven role, not artistic or focused on renditions. You’ll work directly with the owner, gradually taking ownership of our equipment design, drawing, and material-spec systems, aiming to become our go-to pool systems designer.

Responsibilities

  • Design pool equipment sets in 3D using SketchUp Pro + LayOut, including:
    • Pumps
    • Filters
    • Heaters
    • Salt systems
    • Valves
    • Manifolds
  • Ensure correct spacing, manufacturer service clearances, and plumbing runs that fit seamlessly
  • Produce dimensioned drawings for field crews and permit submittal
  • Design and size utility runs, including:
    • Gas line and power routing on site plans
    • Wire gauge and poly-pipe sizing based on distance and load (per manufacturer specs and standard tables/calculators)
  • Develop and maintain component "kits" to automate material lists (fittings, unions, cable, conduit, and consumables)
  • Read and apply manufacturer installation manuals to ensure proper clearances, connection sizes, and requirements
  • Collaborate on documenting processes and creating repeatable checklists for workflows
  • Leverage AI tools to enhance accuracy and speed up work
  • Coordinate with the owner for specs, clarification, and priority setting

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
