The Role: Port Operative (Hull Container Terminal)
Join our team at the Hull Container Terminal in a varied working environment where you’ll be involved in yard duties and terminal operations, including:
- Assisting with the efficient loading and discharge of cargo from vessels
The role demands high flexibility, as movement around the Humber and between terminals is required.

Accountabilities
- Participate in mandatory training to improve skills, knowledge, and overall company efficiency
- Operate Plant and Equipment (after suitable training, including pre-start checks) during vessel loading/discharging and cargo handling
- Comply with Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work, and actively participate in Toolbox Talks
- Ensure targets meet operations criteria, facilitating continuous, safe, and timely shift handover
- Conduct cleaning of equipment/site as required and assist with other port duties
Qualifications & Experience
✔ Must hold a valid UK driving licence (car) and provide personal transportation ✔ Ability to utilise IT equipment (e.g. smartphones, handheld terminals)
Ideal Experience:
- Tug operations
- Reach stacker handling
- Crane operation
Working Arrangements
operas on a 5 on, 3 off schedule, alternating between 2 days and 3 flexible shifts (days or nights as needed).
