Location: South Midlands & South East

Overview

Our client is seeking a Fire Extinguisher Service Engineer to carry out scheduled and reactive maintenance of fire extinguishers across a range of customer sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, fault rectification and ensuring all equipment complies with British Standards, manufacturer guidelines and BAFE requirements. This role requires excellent customer service skills, strong technical knowledge and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out scheduled and reactive maintenance on fire extinguishers.
  • Diagnose and rectify faults in accordance with British Standards, manufacturer guidance and industry best practice.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding equipment condition and recommendations.
  • Liaise with management and service support teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Manage company vehicle stock, tools and equipment.
  • Work in accordance with company Quality Assurance and Health & Safety procedures.
  • Identify and report equipment or site issues that fall outside compliance standards.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, product developments and quality management systems.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO9001, health and safety legislation, environmental requirements and duty of care obligations.
  • Travel throughout the region with occasional overnight stays where required.

Requirements

Experience & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar Fire Extinguisher Service Engineer position.
  • Recognised qualification in Fire Extinguisher Service and Maintenance (e.g. FIA or FPA).
  • Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
  • BAFE registration desirable.
