About the Role
Our client is a global investment platform with a significant European real estate portfolio of companies spanning across residential living and commercial assets.
They're looking for an Associate/Portfolio Accountant to join their London finance team, supporting group reporting, financial accounting and portfolio management across a number of European real estate entities.
What You'll Be Doing
Financial Accounting
- Reviewing property reporting packages prepared by local service providers for completeness and accuracy
- Preparing and booking general journal entries
- Preparing local and group GAAP adjustments in line with internal accounting policies and controls
- Analysing monthly and quarterly financial metrics
- Preparing intercompany reconciliations and supporting regular settlements
- Supporting the periodic group budgeting process

Reporting
- Facilitating monthly, quarterly and annual group reporting
- Assisting with annual statutory accounts and the group consolidation process
- Liaising with external group and local auditors
- Supporting ad hoc reports and reconciliations
Cash Management
- Supporting periodic cash distribution analysis and ensuring timely cash repatriation to investors
Portfolio Management
- Supporting the asset management team with ad hoc financial information and analysis
- Assisting with onboarding, acquisitions and disposals
- Providing wider support to portfolio companies
Compliance
- Ensuring legal and statutory compliance through close liaison with the legal & compliance function
What We're Looking For

- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent), ideally around 5 years PQE
- Real estate exposure, with fund or corporate accounting experience highly desirable
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, with confidence working across local and group GAAP
- Experienced liaising with auditors, service providers and stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions
