Portfolio Analyst
Portfolio Analyst – Permanent, Full-Time (35 hours)
Location: Head Office, Nottingham (Hybrid working, minimum 2 days per week)
About the Role

We are seeking a data-driven Portfolio Analyst to join our Portfolio Management Office and support the Senior Manager. This role is pivotal in delivering clear, insight-led decision-making across our change portfolio, combining demand management, portfolio reporting, benefits tracking, and PMO analysis into one modern, efficient position.
The role focuses on reducing manual reporting, improving transparency, streamlined workflows, and data-backed decision-making. As a key member of the team, you will:
- Maintain accurate portfolio data and generate actionable insights.
- Build and refine automated dashboards in JIRA to enhance efficiency.
- Provide governance forums with meaningful, data-led recommendations.
Key Responsibilities

Portfolio Data & Insight:
- Keep portfolio data accurate and up-to-date.
- Produce clear management information and analyse trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Support senior stakeholder decision-making with evidence-based insights.

Automation & Dashboards:
- Design and enhance automated JIRA dashboards for seamless data capture.
- Reduce reliance on manual reporting while ensuring data consistency.

Demand & Planning:
- Assist with demand intake and improve portfolio pipeline visibility.
- Support capacity and prioritisation, optimising portfolio flow.

- Conduct portfolio health checks and uphold reporting standards.

- Partner with delivery, finance, and technology teams to promote transparency.
- Drive ongoing process improvements across the PMO.
About You
To excel in this role, we’re looking for:

Data & Analytical Expertise:
- Strong ability to analyse complex data sets, ensures accuracy, consistency, and impactful insights.

Tools & Portfolio Knowledge:
- Hands-on experience with JIRA and a solid understanding of portfolio, programme, and project management.
- Knowledge of governance and benefits tracking methodologies.

Insight & Communication:
- Ability to clearly present complex information tailored for different audiences (e.g., stakeholders, teams).

Organisation & Delivery:
- Methodical approach to managing multiple priorities, data sources, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Portfolio & PMO Experience:
- Proven experience supporting complex change portfolios.
- History of delivering insights for senior stakeholders and improving processes through automation and standardisation.

Mindset & Behaviours:
- Curious, detail-oriented, and collaborative.
- Confidence to challenge data assumptions, navigate ambiguity, and build strong cross-team relationships.
