Analyst Role – Portfolio Management & Data (Edinburgh)

Sitting within a broader multi-strategy platform, GPMS is growing, with an advanced product suite and an increasing US presence.
Portfolio Management Team
Based in Edinburgh and London, the Portfolio Management and Research team—part of Investments and reporting to the Chief Investment Officer—manages over 50 client mandates, from initial construction and capital allocation to monitoring, reporting, and wind-down.
Key functions also include:
- Data and analytics
- Research and thought leadership
- Strategic initiatives (e.g., new product development, technology-driven process improvements)

The Role
Patria GPMS seeks an ambitious and numerate analyst to support its Portfolio Management team during a growing phase of expansion. Reporting to the Co-Head of Portfolio Management, the role involves:
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Monitoring & Reporting
- Assist in preparing quarterly client reporting packs, presentations, and ad hoc investor responses.
- Maintain investment models for cashflow forecasting and projected returns across mandates.
- Develop portfolio construction models, mandate overviews, and allocation committee materials.
- Contribute to private equity market commentary, translating data into clear communication for strategic insights and client presentations.
- Support strategic projects, including analytics, secondaries sales, and technology implementations.
Data, Technology & Process
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity across internal systems and reporting tools.
- Assist in process improvement initiatives and over time, propose automation or workflow optimisation.
Teamwork & Wider Support
- Collaborate with Investment and Operations teams for mandate management and ad hoc projects.
- Handle internal/external stakeholder coordination for ongoing initiatives.
- Balance workload while seeking guidance and keeping the team informed.

Ideal applicants will demonstrate:
- Prior exposure to finance/data analysis (work experience, internships, certifications such as CFA or financial modelling courses).
- Familiarity with private equity/private markets (beneficial but not mandatory).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint.
- Bonus: Experience with Power BI & PowerQuery.
- Numeracy + attention to detail (erroneous data flagged swiftly).
- Strong time management skills (ability to juggle multiple tasks).
- Collaborative mindset (cross-functional teamwork).
- Eager to learn and improve (growth-focused, open to feedback).
- Innovative (enjoying smarter solutions—process, tools, or automation).
