Portfolio Commercial Manager
Salary: £55,000 – £63,000 base + commission Location: London
A leading media events business is seeking a highly accomplished Portfolio Commercial Manager to join their Hospitality portfolio, overseeing commercial sales strategy and delivery across two flagship brands.
The ideal candidate will act as a hands-on "player-manager", crafting and executing commercial plans aligned with overall event strategy, while also mentoring and developing the sales team to drive performance, pipeline growth, and revenue delivery. Beyond leadership, this role retains responsibilities for key accounts, sponsorships, and new business generation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and train a sales team of 5 (sales & senior sales executives)
- Develop and deliver robust commercial plans:
- Align with wider business objectives
- Identify revenue opportunities
- Set clear sales targets
- Drive strategic initiatives for growth, customer retention, and long-term success
- Champion effective CRM utilisation within the team:
- Ensure accurate data management
- Maintain high-quality pipeline oversight
- Provide precise reporting
- Enhance customer engagement and commercial outcomes
- Oversee key account and account management
- Drive new business development
- Manage floor plan execution

Key Experience Required
- Events (exhibitions) industry experience is essential
- Management of sales teams preferred
- Highly self-motivated and performance-driven, with a track record of achieving sales targets and revenue goals
- Strong objection handling, negotiation, and closing skills (both virtual and in-person)
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Exceptional organisation and prioritisation skills
- Comfortable with ad-hoc sales planning
- Proven ability to write detailed partnership and sponsorship proposals
- Experience with CRM systems (a plus, ideally HubSpot)
- Capacity to build and maintain strong key client relationships
