Portfolio Director

Portfolio Director

Location: Glasgow

Linxon is seeking a highly experienced Portfolio Director to lead our large-scale electrical infrastructure programmes, with a particular focus on high-voltage substations. Based in Glasgow, this senior leadership position is responsible for ensuring the effective management and strategic delivery of multiple complex projects, as well as fostering robust stakeholder relationships within the organisation and with clients.

As Portfolio Director, you will provide direction for Linxon’s major programmes in Scotland, overseeing planning, coordination, and execution. You will champion collaboration between cross-functional teams, drive continuous improvement, and act as the principal representative to clients and key stakeholders, ensuring their expectations are met and relationships are strengthened.

In addition, you will work closely with internal operations teams to facilitate seamless project execution, proactively addressing operational challenges and ensuring that all project requirements are met efficiently. Your engagement with these teams will be vital in integrating best practices, optimising processes, and supporting delivery excellence across all programme phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all Linxon programmes in Scotland, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within scope, and on budget.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, executive management, and external stakeholders, including clients, partners, and regulatory bodies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and programme outcomes.
  • Represent Linxon at senior stakeholder meetings, industry forums, and client engagements.
  • Collaborate closely with internal operations teams to identify and resolve project execution challenges, ensuring smooth delivery and alignment with organisational goals.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
