Lead Transformation Manager

About The Team & Role
The Transformation team leads a portfolio of projects, planning, sequencing, and executing crucial initiatives across Ocado Retail. As Lead Transformation Manager, this role ensures clarity in where—and why—we’re prioritising change. You will:
- Align the transformation portfolio to deliver Ocado Retail’s (ORL) strategic roadmap.
- Embed an agile, flexible approach to prioritisation, ensuring consistency in ROI, planning, and value realisation.
- Collaborate across Ocado Retail, Ocado Technology, and Ocado Logistics, driving alignment and coordination.
You will report directly to the Head of Transformation.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Alignment & Roadmapping
- Develop and maintain a rolling transformation roadmap, reflecting current business priorities.
- Lead the intake process for business cases, applying consistent methodologies to evaluate:
- Strategic fit
- ROI
- Risk
Portfolio Oversight
- Identify interdependencies and escalate issues/risks at a portfolio level.
- Advise on value maximisation/realisation frameworks via:
- Finance collaboration
- Stakeholder validation of business cases

Capacity & Resource Management
- Provide a macro-view of resource demand, identifying bottlenecks (e.g., tech, change, project management capacity).
- Work with operational teams to mitigate risks to the roadmap.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Build and maintain strong, influential relationships with:
- Senior leaders
- Project managers
- Functional leads
- Support the creation of prioritisation materials and fora, emphasising value lenses and ROI.
Business Case Ownership
- Support Big Picture Thinking (LT) in prioritising initiatives aligned to business objectives.
What We’re Looking For: Your Skills & Experience
- Strategic Portfolio Management: Proven experience in shaping or managing portfolios in high-growth retail or technical environments.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to build rapidly trust-based relationships across complex organisation structures, tailoring approaches for alignment.
- Financial & Commercial Acumen:
- Deep understanding of business cases and ROI modelling.
- Capacity to influence re-forecasting decisions.
- Influencing & Negotiation:
- Manage competing priorities between disparate teams.
- Align conflicting views toward a unified roadmap.
- Data-Driven Insight:
- Expertise in leveraging FocusHQ (or similar) to define a Single Source of Truth for portfolio health and value.
- Proficiency in MoSCoW and WSJF prioritisation frameworks.
- Effective Communication:
- Ability to synthesise and articulate high-level strategic narratives for C-suite consumption.
- Resilience: Thriving in fast-paced, shifting-priorities environments.
